But there&#8217;s often another factor that isn&#8217;t considered much: <strong>wellbeing<\/strong>. The pandemic has only highlighted the importance of work-life balance for people, and now more than ever they&#8217;re talking about their needs in that area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Satisfaction generates productivity<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Other aspects such as meritocracy and the gender gap layer on top of this, directly impacting employee motivation (negatively or positively, depending on the situation). Back in 1968, American psychologist <strong>Frederick Herzberg<\/strong> was already talking about this issue. In his paper <em>One more time: How do you motivate employees?<\/em>, he emphasised how important it was to note the difference between actions and motivations, as well as how <strong>employee motivation can make or break a company.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the study, employees that feel most in synergy with the corporate vision and <strong>feel involved in developing and growing their professional profiles,<\/strong> are more motivated and align to corporate objectives more easily. They often work passionately to boost the reputation and the productivity of their company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"420\" src=\"https:\/\/lifeed.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/HEADER-BLOG-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24084\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lifeed.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/HEADER-BLOG-1.png 640w, https:\/\/lifeed.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/HEADER-BLOG-1-600x394.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Make space for feelings<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So increased satisfaction boosts productivity. But on the other hand, we&#8217;re going through a huge social change. <strong>That&#8217;s why we can&#8217;t avoid people&#8217;s feelings at work:<\/strong> they must become a part of our everyday working lives. Living through and sharing our emotions at work (without constraining them to the personal sphere) can become fundamental in increasing<strong> people&#8217;s retention, engagement and productivity.<\/strong> <span id=\"hs-cta-wrapper-44d411d8-cdec-42e1-a9cd-2166d1edbc8f\" class=\"hs-cta-wrapper\"><span id=\"hs-cta-44d411d8-cdec-42e1-a9cd-2166d1edbc8f\" class=\"hs-cta-node hs-cta-44d411d8-cdec-42e1-a9cd-2166d1edbc8f\"><\/span><\/span><!-- end HubSpot Call-to-Action Code --><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to reach these objectives, <strong>it&#8217;s important to keep an open dialogue between teams.<\/strong> Managers take on the challenge of continuing conversations <strong>even when working remotely<\/strong>, putting people and their needs at the centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Human sustainability <\/em><\/strong>will become increasingly important in business. It&#8217;s all about caring for employees each day, going beyond professional boundaries to support their wellbeing.
